LAJES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (TER) TERCEIRA ISLAND AZORES PORTUGAL (What is it like)

Hi everyone welcome to Travelzilla. This time around I will be your travel guide at the Lajes International Airport, located on the island of TERCEIRA, part of the Azores Arquipelago, Portugal. Terceira is home to many tourist attractions such as the incredible city of ANGRA DO HEROÍSMO, a city that has been the capital of Portugal in the past and that has served as a model city for Portugal's most important colony, Brazil! In fact many Brazilian cities today look a lot like Angra do Heroísmo (Diamantina, Ouro Preto, Goiás Velho etc). Terceira is an incredible island, home to amazing attractions such as the Boicoitos Natural Pools, Victoria Beach, several volcanoes, caves such as the Algar do Carvão, the fajãs and furnas! In this video I will tour the Lajes International airport (TER) with you, talk a little about the Aerogare Das Lajes, commercial terminal, how it is a mixed used airport located in a military base, give you some stats regarding this particular airport and how traveling in the pandemic has affected the airport in the past couple of years. The Lajes International Airport ( Aerogare das lajes) is the Azores main hub for international flights, it is used by Tap Air Portugal as a stopover point for flights linking Portugal to Boston and other destinations in the United States as well as a hub for Sata International. Is is also served by airlines such as Sata Azorean airlines, RayanAir and Tui.
