Muzik Tarian Tradisional Sabah. SAYAU MOGINUM, ETNIK DUSUN TATANA, KUALA PENYU, SABAH. Sayau Moginum is a traditional ethnic dance of the Dusun Tatana tribe in the Kuala Penyu region. This dance is performed during the Moginum ritual, which is a custom to commemorate the deceased. The Moginum custom consists of several ceremonies, namely Moginum Kahwin, which is performed during the wedding of the eldest or youngest daughter, Moginum Kaul, which is a ceremony to heal the sick who have been affected by the sinimponongon (ancestral spirits), and Moginum Loyob, which is a commemoration of someone who has passed away. The dance performance is led by a male dancer accompanied by several other male dancers who play the role of "menyinggarung" or providing drinks. Female dancers paired with male dancers are called "mengambai". The number of dancers is not limited and usually requires a large group. This dance is accompanied by the lively rhythm of the gong called "Tungkas Kadayan". After dancing for a few minutes, other male dancers come to "menyinggarung" the male dancers while dancing. After all the dancers have been given drinks, the dance performance is concluded by the leader of the dancers raising his hand as a signal to the gong ensemble.
