Statics: 3D Force Equilibrium Problem
The major skill here is being able to transform the position vectors of cables into their respective Force Vectors. Then, by Newton's 2nd Law, the sum of these Force vectors equals zero. This has you summing up the x,y, and z components of the force, set equal to zero. You can then solve this system of equations either using a matrix (which i recommend) or by hand Problem Statement: Determine the force in each cable needed to support the 500-lb load.
