Ascend - OpenMarch Drill Demo #5 (V0.0.22)

Got some time to finish making this video. This drill demo was made on V0.0.22. I tried to challenge myself with writing for a larger ensemble this time. I'm starting to get a better feel for the software now, and many of the previous bugs that were causing major latency issues have been patched now, so workflow is much smoother. There are still many limitations to the software, such as the absence of a follow the leader tool or other shape tools. Without having an XML file for the audio you with to write drill for, the next best option is using an mp3 and attempting to sync the drill accordingly. This is not a problem by itself when making videos like this, but when writing drill for an actual ensemble this can become a problem. While you can still attempt to sync the drill with an mp3 as I have done here, it canake the sizes of sets and step sizes not aligned with how many there should be. For example, some of the sets that should've been 8 counts were listed as 6 because I used an mp3, and this made some of the step sizes look larger than they actually were (6.2 to 5 instead of 7.5 to 5. This isn't a specific number, rather just an example.) Not sure if there is a workaround for this yet, but if there isn't it would be great to see some future focus in this area! Regardless, the software had grown immensely in the 1 1/2 years I've been using it. I look forward to what the future has in store!
