Maroons of Dominica (Neg Mawon) A British Nightmare!
A brief history of pre-emancipation Dominica. The Maroons were freedom fighters who succeeded on many fronts and harassed the oppression of the British especially in those years. The Kalinago people also supported the Maroons in their escape, showed them pathways and the tracks, foods and cultures important to survival, where the best water came from, where the best plants grew and so forth.
