This Worn Out D11 Dozer Equalizer Bar Gets a Complete Rebuild!
A worn out Caterpillar D11 equalizer bar arrives in the workshop needing a complete overhaul, and by the end of the job it's ready to head back into service looking and performing like new. This rebuild is far more than simply replacing a few parts. The entire equalizer bar is stripped, sandblasted and crack tested before all three bearing bores are reclaimed using our Zayer bed mill and Sir Meccanica bore welder. The process involves precision boring, bore welding, machining new snap ring grooves and grease grooves, drilling multiple grease ports that were welded over, installing new bearings and seals with the hydraulic press, and finishing everything with fresh Caterpillar yellow paint. One stubborn grease hole certainly didn't make life easy, with multiple drill bit sharpenings needed before finally breaking through. There's a lot of work that goes into a job like this, but when it's finished the customer gets their equalizer bar back looking like it just rolled out of the factory. It's always satisfying seeing something that’s worn out brought back to life instead of ending up in the scrap bin. ═══════════════ New videos every second Friday at 5pm AEST!
