German Panzer V in Houffalize, Belgium.
Following my hunt for the Tiger II in La Gleize, this clip shows my hunt for a German Panzer Mark V in Houffalize, Belgium. This tank belonged to the 116th Panzer Division and according to the information on site and online, it is no. 111 but has 401 written on it. No idea why the contradiction. Various notes say the tank fell in the River Ourthe (there is a picture taken in 1945 showing it upside down in the water) or was blown into the river following an American air raid. This seems plausible because the bodies of the crew were still inside when it was eventually removed from the river in 1948.
