Among the maze of motorcycles on display at the 2024 EICMA motorcycle was the 2025 Yamaha R3. The bike has recently been updated and it made its first public debut in Milan. The key highlight of the new Yamaha R3 is its revised styling which is now in line with the R-series thought of design. It gets a single projector LED headlight flanked by DRLs on either ends and the face of the bike is sharper and sleeker. And that’s about it because the powerplant and hardware remains unchanged. The 2025 Yamaha R3 is featuring the same 321 cc parallel-twin mill pushing out 41.42 bhp and 29.5 Nm, which is disappointing given the performance figures of its rivals. The diamond type frame too is similar and so is the UDS fork and monoshock setup. The only noteworthy difference is the addition of a slipper clutch, which honestly should have been added at least 5 years back. In the features department too the new Yamaha R3 is lacking as it still employs a LCD instrument console when all its rivals are using a TFT screen. There’s no navigation, riding modes or even a quickshifter.
