Sua FALHA na Barba NÃO É um Defeito
Is the fact that a beard has less volume a flaw? “Flaw” sounds to me like we came with a factory defect. And it always brings up the idea that the right thing to have is a full, voluminous beard, all perfect like the ones we see in tons of photos of models on Instagram. And that’s not true. It’s as if we need to have a standard beard, exactly the same, within a pre-defined mold and the bigger, fuller, more imposing, more masculine, the more of a man we are. And well… if you’re going to depend on your beard for that, my friend… THE PRESSURE WE PUT ON OURSELVES I’ve already fallen into this trap with my white beard. Mine was always white on my chin and then it spread. Look, the time and energy I spent not liking this physical characteristic of mine, calling it a flaw… It’s a type of trap we fall into in many aspects of life, right? It's the bald spot showing, the beer belly... It's a pressure that we put on ourselves (which, let's face it, is only a fraction of the pressure that men put on women, right? On the body, makeup, hair, clothes, behavior...). I brought this up here because I was looking at the comments on the channel to get some ideas and I noticed how much people are concerned about beard baldness. People want tips on remedies to grow a beard, minoxidil, tonics, whether this or that oil really works... It's OK for us to go after what we really want, but is the only chance for a beard to be cool and make you feel good and confident, a standard full beard? I don't think so. It doesn't have to be that way. A lot of the comments I read asking about some treatment to grow or fill out the volume are from younger people. There are people who are 14, 16, 18 years old and already worried about this. The fact is that there are a lot of treatments that you can do. But not all of them will work. Maybe none of them will. That's why it's always a good idea to see a dermatologist first to understand your case and, if that's the case, get the right treatment, with monitoring. But in most cases, time can solve the problem. GIVE IT TIME Some areas of the beard may take longer to develop. And this is very common! So if you're growing your beard and notice that there are some areas with less hair, before starting any treatment, be a little patient. The growth time varies from person to person, but I remember that my beard only really started to grow in after I was in my twenties. So relax and give it some time to understand what's happening and get to know better how your beard works. YOUR STYLE IS WHAT COUNTS There are many beard styles that can be used when we have little hair on our face or in a specific area, and that doesn't mean they're any less beard-like than others! You can always use the characteristics of your beard to your advantage! In general, a beard style that is shorter on the sides and focuses on a slightly longer mustache works very well. The Balbo style is an example I've given here a few times. It's perfect for those who don't have much hair on the sides and don't have a connection between the mustache and the beard. And it's really pretty! In addition to this, there's a whole range of different goatees and mustaches that you can choose from. If you want to learn more about some styles, there are two videos on the channel about it. I'm leaving the link here in the video and also in the description. But regardless of the style, the name of the beard, because this isn't just about beards, each person is unique. The color of the hair, the size of the nose, the way the hair grows on the beard or any other part of the body... It's about acceptance and being able to see in ourselves the characteristics that are unique and perhaps, instead of thinking of them as a flaw, see them as a point of individuality. Embracing this difference in some way. What do you think? Does it make sense?
