FROM BASIC TO BOLD: UOEN BACK DENIM JACKET UPCYCLE

A few weeks ago, I asked my community to vote on my next upcycle project. The choices were a tie skirt, a Napoleon-inspired jacket, or an open-back denim jacket inspired by a Pinterest design. The winner wasn’t even close! In today’s video, I’m transforming an oversized denim jacket that’s been sitting in my closet for years into a bold statement piece featuring an open back, oversized grommets, and custom denim lacing made from recycled jeans. Follow along as I: ✂️ Add shaping for a better fit ✂️ Cut out the back panel ✂️ Create a reinforced denim facing ✂️ Install grommets using my new tabletop press ✂️ Make custom denim lacing from reclaimed jeans ✂️ Style the finished look I love finding creative ways to breathe new life into old clothing, and this project proves that a piece you never wear can become one of your favorites.
