AZHT: Working with Foals - Introducing the horse trailer & establishing proper pressure and release
Working with foals is a very important step for their future. When done right, you will be able to build a bonding relationship. Establishing proper pressure and release is crucial. You don't want to force the foal to do anything, you simply ask by applying a small amount of pressure and allow them to think about what your asking. As soon as the foal gives, you release and reward them. When introducing any un-natural object, make sure they have a chance to smell and feel it with their nose till they are comfortable with it. As always it takes time, patience, and consistency! Soft hands, makes a soft horse
