The Beach Boys - This Could Be The Night (1965) [AI]

In late 1965, Brian Wilson made a home recording of one his favorite songs at the time, "This Could Be The Night" by MFQ - written by Harry Nilsson, produced by Phil Spector. It hadn't been released yet, but Brian attended the session and just couldn't get the song out of his head. Just a brief recording on the same tape that yielded the demo for "Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder)", this piece never materialized into anything more than some rough bass and slide guitar noodling..... but what if it did? Using advanced production techniques, instrumental parts from "The Little Girl I Once Knew", "Let Him Run Wild", and other '65 era recordings were sampled and rearranged to create this hypothetical backing track. With newly recorded vocals, along with pieces of Brian Wilson's subsequent live performances of the song passed through AI vocal modeling, this version imagines the Beach Boys recording they never actually made.
