The Rosary The Holy Rosary Jesus says that it is not enough to pray, for prayer must lead us to do – as He did – the will of the Heavenly Father: "I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done" (Mt. 7:21; Jn. 13:15). "Christ suffered for us, leaving us an example, that we should follow in his steps... and that, dead to sin, we might live for God" (1 Pet. 2:21, 24). As the risen Christ lives for God, so you also, dead to sin, live for God in Christ Jesus (Rom. 6:8-11). Prayer and Hope Guide: By the sign of the Holy Cross, deliver us, God our Lord, from our enemies. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. You are the glory of Jerusalem, you the joy of Israel, you the honor of our people. Hail, O Virgin, honor of our land, to whom we render a cult of piety and veneration, whom we call by the beautiful name of Aparecida. Who could count, O sweet Mother, how many graces, during so many years, you have bestowed upon the Brazilian people, compassionate about our ills? We wished to crown your sacred head with a golden crown, which is due to you for so many reasons; continue to bend kindly to our prayers. When we raise our suppliant hands to heaven, hear, merciful Virgin, our pleas; keep our souls far from guilt and, finally, lead us to heaven. Salvation, honor, and power to Him who, one and triune, in the splendor of His celestial throne, governs and rules the entire universe. Our Lady of Aparecida, pray for us.
