Baku–Tbilisi rail service resumes after six years

Azerbaijan Railways has resumed passenger train services between Baku and Tbilisi after a six-year suspension caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. The first train departed from Baku Railway Station on 25 May at 23:10 and is scheduled to arrive in Tbilisi at 08:41. The rail link between the two cities carries significance beyond the convenience of overnight travel. It is a key part of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor and has helped strengthen economic ties, facilitate trade and support regional development.
