Innovation is also underway in the steel industry. Hydrogen reduction steelmaking technology, which uses hydrogen instead of coal, is a carbon-neutral steelmaking process that emits only water instead of carbon dioxide and is attracting attention as a game changer that will transform the industrial structure itself. Hydrogen is not just a simple energy source. A true hydrogen economy can only be realized by establishing the entire ‘hydrogen value chain,’ which extends from production to storage, transportation, and utilization.
