Hat Head Holiday Park is one of the best caravan parks we have stayed at. Yes, we try not to visit too many caravan parks in general (as we prefer the less crowded camps), but this one's a bloody ripper. But before we get to the beauty that is Hat Head, we first make it a journey getting there by taking the route less travelled through the scrub to Port Macquarie and then on to Crescent Head via the notorious Point Plomer Road. Lifting wheels and getting bogged is the recipe for an adventure with a relaxed ending swimming and fishing in the back creek once we finally arrive at camp. This is one place worth a visit.
