A House of Brick: 100 Years of Memorial Stadium
This Big Ten Network documentary chronicles the 100 years of Memorial Stadium at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Dedicated in Oct. 1924, this historic structure was built to honor the fallen of World War I and remains a tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives in subsequent wars. The stadium was funded and made possible by donations from students, alums and friends of the university. Its neoclassical architecture was groundbreaking, seating almost 70,000 fans, and significantly influenced the infrastructure of the state of Illinois. Today it remains the home of Illinois football and one of the most iconic buildings on campus. For more information: https://go.illinois.edu/TheFirst100Ye...
