Typhoon Display - 29 Squadron We normally expect to hear callsign ANARCHY1 when it comes to the RAF Typhoon display pilot, however, this year, the display pilot's callsign is "TURBO"! Well, if there was a callsign available that had your nickname, you’d surely take it. The callsign is actually from RAF LOSSIEMOUTH’S 6 Squadron and Turbo has borrowed it from them for the year which means 6 Squadron are without this callsign. Flight Lieutenant David "Turbo" Turnbull is this year's RAF Typhoon Display pilot and he has already produced a particular sequence that will wow the crowds. The slow aileron roll into the max alpha is a signature manoeuvre from Turbo! He is becoming one of the best Typhoon display pilots of all time. As it is the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy this year, the theme to the Typhoon’s livery was given this honour. The new livery is painted in the Hawker Typhoon scheme with 257 Squadron markings which includes the squadron markings which was FM, Camo and D-Day (or invasion) Stripes.
