Screen Printing Halftones vs DTF | Which Looks Better?

Can AI create good halftone artwork for screen printing and DTF transfers? In this video, I show how I created a Tupac-inspired design using Kittl AI. I transformed the image into a halftone design by removing heavy black areas and making the artwork lighter and more breathable for apparel. Back when I was screen printing, halftones became one of my favorite techniques. After getting displaced from our apartment, I transitioned into DTF transfers and have been experimenting with halftone effects to recreate that same look. I also talk about why black and gray artwork is popular here in Los Angeles and give a shoutout to my friend Mando Tattoos from Texas, who travels to California every few months and creates amazing work for our family. If you’re into screen printing, DTF transfers, AI artwork, apparel decorating, and building a t-shirt business in 2026, this video is for you. 👇 Let me know in the comments: Do you prefer halftones for screen printing or DTF transfers? 🔥 Heat Press Equipment I Use: https://www.heatpressnation.com/maste... 💰 Need Help Pricing Shirts & Transfers? https://masterscreenprints.etsy.com 📧 Join My Free Email List: https://master-screen-prints.kit.com/... ☕ Support The Channel: https://buymeacoffee.com/masterscreen... 🎙 Big Dog Hustle Podcast Timestamps 00:00 Introduction 01:15 Creating a Tupac-inspired image with AI 03:30 Turning AI art into a halftone design 06:05 Why I remove heavy black areas 08:30 Making apparel more breathable 10:45 My screen printing journey 13:20 Transitioning to DTF transfers 15:50 Why black and gray artwork is popular 18:00 Shout out to Mando Tattoos 20:00 Screen Printing vs DTF halftones 22:00 Final thoughts
