Drive Belt Issues with the MTD Gold

This MTD Gold Tractor is some nice BUT ... I put new belts in this yard tractor. The tractor doesn't seem to be performing like it did before I changed them, so I want to know why. In this video I check out the belt set up and try and determine why the tractor 'lurches' into almost full speed when I push on the forward pedal. It didn't do that with the old belts and I don't like it so it has to change. Also I want to try and adjust the forward pedal so that it engages the clutch sooner and perhaps give me smoother acceleration. Not too sure how I did on these 2 issues.
