BACKER ROD DOBERMAN EAR POSTING

Supplies: -Backer Rod (1/2 inch or 5/8 inch) -Zonas Adhesive Tape (12 packs on amazon) -Cotton Balls -Heavy Duty Duct Tape -Scissors -Treat for your pup when your done OPTIONAL: (recommended) -Torbot Skin Bonding Cement or Ostobond -Gold Bond Medicated Powder -Goo Gone (to remove tape) or Unisolve Recommended schedule: -Have veterinarian crop puppies ears between 8 and 9 weeks old. -Leave ears posted for 4-5 days then remove post and clean ears. Let the ears dry and air out for a few hours then repost. Tips: -Always clean out your dogs ears between posting. -Stretch the ear up when inserting and taping the post to the ear. -DO NOT PULL TAPE TIGHT, loosely wrap tape then squeeze the ear to secure the tape as shown in the video. -Use a bridge the first few postings to teach your dog where to hold it's ears. A bridge made out of Zonas tape works fine, unless your dogs ears are tipping inwards towards the head then you will need to use a solid bridge with Zonas tape my inserting half a popsicle stick or a piece of baker rod in between the ears. Once you notice the puppy holding the ears in the correct position for most of the time posted you should no longer need a bridge. Your puppy needs to hold the ears up on it's own an excercise the muscle. THANK YOU FOR WATCHING, PLEASE LEAVE QUESTIONS IN THE COMMENTS :)
