This year we are at the 9th edition of the national conference of patients with MELANOMA and skin cancers! We chose to hold it in Craiova, considering the increasingly significant contribution of the St. Nectarie Oncology Center to the care of oncological patients and clinical research. The conference is national, with contributions from Romanian experts, but also recommendations from specialists from melanoma centers in the Netherlands and Germany. We will invite specialists and opinion leaders from the Bucharest Oncology Institute, the Cluj-Napoca Oncology Institute, the Iași Regional Oncology Institute, the St. Nectarie Center Craiova, OncoHelp Timișoara, the Institute of Public Health, the Palmed Private Hospital Association, the Genetics and Personalized Medicine Association, as well as specialists from the University Hospital Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Tuebingen, Germany. We extend invitations to the Ministry of Health and the National Health Insurance House in order to keep the authorities' attention on patients with melanoma/skin cancer and rare melanomas. We will talk about more specific topics in the care of oncology patients and where there would be potential for change for the better: practical solutions for patients, cancer centers, equitable access to new melanoma treatments, genetic testing and precision oncology, cancer registries, evidence-based prevention, rare melanomas and access to European Reference Networks, as well as quality of life and education of patients and their supporters.
