In case anyone has forgotten or doesn't understand what I'm talking about, I'd like to clarify. In our childhood during the Perestroika era, watching a foreign video film was as big an event as flying abroad is today. Although I've never been abroad myself, I imagine the opportunities and emotions involved would be similar. I just don't know what to compare it to so that today's youth can understand what it meant to us back then. Towards the 1990s, watching videos became more accessible. This is due to the emergence of the first video salons and local commercial television, which also began showing VCRs. And from the mid-1990s, VCRs themselves became more accessible, allowing you to watch any video at your convenience. What a joy that was! Back then, we were lucky enough to even own a simple photo of a movie poster. Do you remember those photos? And you all remember how many of those photos didn't even make it clear what movie it was. Most of them were amateur photos taken from posters. So, the title of the movie never made it into the frame. Or it might even be a fragment from the movie. Incidentally, I've already talked about this in more detail in one of my videos. So, we'd look at those photos and try to figure out what kind of movie it was. And, of course, we'd dream of watching it. After all, all movies back then seemed incredibly cool to us. Especially those unknown characters in those photos.
