Today we bring you the second part of the interview with Marco Antonio Marino Bravo, an arbiter with the Spanish Chess Federation (FEDA), in which he answers questions from channel subscribers and discusses the latest updates to the FIDE Handbook, which will be implemented in tournaments starting July 1st. The International Chess Federation (FIDE) (French: Fédération Internationale des Échecs - FIE - or English: International Chess Federation - WCF) was founded on July 20, 1924, in Paris. Alexander Rueb, one of its founders, was elected its first president (1924–1949). Currently, the presidency is held by HEKirsan Ilyumzhinov, who has been president since 1995 (President of Kalmykia, an autonomous republic of Russia). FIDE is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the governing body for chess and international championships at the continental level. In 1999, FIDE was recognized by the IOC as an international sports federation. Currently, FIDE is not only focused on top-level professional chess, but also invests in chess education in schools, making this intellectual sport a source of learning.
