The Historic Stadiums series lands in Santos, at Vila Belmiro, the stage of the greatest athlete of the century, King Pelé. The Urbano Caldeira Stadium is the first privately owned stadium entirely belonging to a football club. Four years after the founding of Santos Futebol Clube, on October 12, 1916, the Sports Square was inaugurated, the name by which the stadium was known before receiving its official name, Urbano Caldeira Stadium. Over time, the Santos field became known by the name of the neighborhood where it is built, Vila Belmiro. In these years of existence, the home of the Santos team has witnessed unique scenes on its field. It has seen 288 goals by Pelé, who to this day is the stadium's all-time top scorer, and has also seen the birth of the "Meninos da Vila" (boys of the village). Besides Pelé, stars like Pepe, Clodoaldo, Robinho, and most recently, Neymar Jr., emerged on its pitches and conquered the world of football.
