Joey Silcock's Speed Flip - Moser Rides

The Speed Flip from Moser rides is one crazy extreme ride Originally called XS Extreme 2 by Moser rides the machine would come to be commonly known as Speed Flip. At the time of its release Moser claimed this ride could be transported on one trailer although those travelling tend to be two loads. The first Speed Flip opened at the winter fair in Calais in the north of France and proved popular with more showmen ordering Speed Flips from Moser over the next few years. One of these would be Joey Silcock who ran a successful catering business and was looking for a unique machine he could travel. He decided that a Moser Speed Flip would be the perfect ride as it was totally unique describing it as a cross between the Orbiter, Extreme and Top Buzz rides, of which a Top Scan was not travelling in 2005. Joey Silcock’s Speed Flip would open for the first time in th Spring of 2005 at the famous Royal Knutsford May Fair, one of the biggest fairs in the country at that time of year. The Speed Flip proved a popular ride, surprising many at how fast and extreme the ride was and how well the cars looped over in the ride not just rocking. Joey Silcock would go on to open the Speed Flip at many of the largest fairs including Kirkcaldy Links Market, Irn Bru Carnival at the SEC in Glasgow, Hull Fair and Newcastle Hoppings to name a few. Reece & Renie Phillips would travel the Speed Flip for the 2009 season opening the ride further south than Joey Silcock’s traditional area at grounds such as, Peterborough Mart, Great Yarmouth Easter Fair and Hampstead Heath Bank Holiday Fair. The Speed Flip would go into Marshall Hill’s Amusement Park, Funland at Hayling Island in 2010 where it would open for the next few seasons. In 2013 the Speed Flip was sold to Romania. The Speed Flip is still manufactured by Moser with the first American order due for Fun City Carnival and is due to be delivered in June 2023.
