"My parents accepted the dowry without my consent." Meseret was only 14 years old when her parents agreed to marry her off to a 48-year-old man. She didn’t know the man, and she didn’t know what marriage meant—all she knew was that she had to fight back. Through tears, hunger strikes, and eventually the help of World Vision training, Meseret learned she had rights.
