MEGASAT Diavolo Twin LNB modification for external reference - QO-100

Directors Cut :) The first upload had 3 little "jumps" in the video and while there is no function to replace a video, I uploaded it again. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Hello and welcome back to my channel. This video shows the "standard" modification of a MEGASAT Diabolo Twin Gold LNB v3 with NXP chip. While the LNB has a "butterfly oscillator" and needs for best performance a 0° + 180° Phase Signal, it is necessary (easiest mod) to use a balun. All about the balun you see and read in the video. After the modification don´t forget to put new sealed to the LNB to keep it safe from negativ influences. I do this with high temperatur sealed from our Car store. Primary and secondary winding are turns each. 6:53 Soldering the BALUN' secondary wires in place of the XTAL 8:35 Soldering the BALUN' primary wires. One to ground, one goes to the reference input through a capacitor. 10:51 Soldering 1 uF SOV X7R SMD capacitor on the input pin of the F connector 11:45 Soldering the remaining free BALUN primary wire to input capacitor. 13:28 Insulating contacts with some adhesive tape strips. 14:08 The modification is done! 15:35 Don't forget to re-seal the LNB against atmospheric agents with silicone sealant. #LNB #mod #modification
