Author and Columnist, Dr Max du Preez, urged UFS’s intelligentsia to follow role models such as Chief Mohlomi and King Moshoeshoe during his address at the June Graduation ceremony on Thursday, 28 June 2018. He referred to the new crop of graduates as members of the society’s intelligentsia and described them as educated professionals who could contribute immensely to society. “You are in the vanguard of South Africa's quest to develop into a prosperous, caring country and a progressive, open society. You have an important role to play in the ongoing process to undo the wrongs and inequalities of our bitter history,” he added.
