Cristian Mungiu critică lipsa de sprijin pentru filmul românesc: „Statul să îşi facă treaba”

Director Cristian Mungiu called on Sunday, upon returning to Romania with the Palme d'Or trophy, for a more consistent involvement of the Romanian state in supporting culture and film, especially by financing the international promotion of Romanian productions. He says that success at Cannes should not be followed by symbolic gestures, but by real investments in infrastructure and campaigns that would increase Romania's chances at awards such as the Oscars. "The state should do its job, I already have a whole suitcase of medals and decorations.
