KALAWATI BANDISH COMPOSED BY DR MADHURI DONGRE ON OCCASION OF SWARYOGINI DR PRABHA ATRE TURNING 90
Raag Kalawati is special for Swaryogini Dr Prabha Atre as it was on her first LP in 1971. Dr Madhuri Dongre, the renowned musician and Guru pays a special tribute to Dr Atre by composing this bandish, followed by tarana on her birthday. It is sung by the talented young vocalist Kasturi Joshi. Accompaniment on tabla is by Shri JItendra Kulkarni. Incidentally, country's second highest civilian honour Padma Vibhushan was also conferred upon Dr Atre on this Republic Day.
