Discerning of Spirits and Gift of Faith

I Corinthians 12:1-11. The gift of discerning of spirits is a supernatural revelation from God of the presence or activities of the spirit world. An individual actually sees in the spirit realm, most of the time this gift will operate in the form of a vision. Examples given of the discerning of spirits in the Old Testament operating through Ezekiel, Elisha and his servant Gehazi, Isaiah; in the New Testament operating through Stephen, John on the Isle of Patmos. I Corinthians 12:1, 4-11. The gift of faith is a supernatural power given by God protecting from harm or danger, or bringing blessing. The purpose of the gift of faith is God giving us an extension of our faith when we have a need that is greater than our faith is able to cope with. Examples given of the gift of faith in the Old Testament, Daniel 6:16-17, 19, Daniel 3, I Kings 17:1-7; in the New Testament, Mark 4, Jesus asleep in in the bottom of the boat during a severe storm.
