While attending Toyo High School, he captained the team to victory in the All Japan High School Volleyball Championship. He went on to Keio University. In 2013, he joined the Japan National Team. In October 2014, he joined the Suntory Sunpers of the V Premier League. In 2017, he turned professional and played in Germany and Poland. In April 2018, he was appointed captain of the Japan National Team. In 2020, he returned to the Suntory Sunpers and contributed to their second consecutive championship.
