Bartosz Rutkowski, a reserve second lieutenant commander, served in the military for over 20 years. In an instant, he exchanged his uniform for the mantle of a modern-day hero. When he read an article about a 12-year-old boy crucified in Syria, he, a man of action, immediately sprang into action. Today, the Eaglewatch Foundation, founded 10 years ago, helps thousands of people in the most dangerous places on earth, engulfed by armed conflict, violence, injustice, and death. In Syria, Iraq, Nigeria, Ukraine, and other countries where wars rage, Bartosz and his colleagues bring hope and support to people who are amputated, battered, hopeless, and abandoned.
