O QUE SAI DE DENTRO DE NÓS NA ADVERSIDADE?

In life, we all face moments of pressure, pain, and adversity. But the most important question is not just "what is happening to us," but rather: what is coming out of us when these situations arise? The Bible shows us that adversity has the power to reveal what truly dwells in the human heart. The people of Israel murmured in the desert because of the lack of water and food. David's soldiers, in Ziklag, even considered stoning him when their families were taken away. In both cases, the crisis revealed unbelief, fear, and accusations. On the other hand, we also see a powerful contrast in Scripture: Paul and Silas, even unjustly imprisoned, reacted by singing and worshiping God in prison (Acts 16:25). What explains such different reactions to adversity? In this sermon, we will look at passages such as Exodus 17, Numbers 11, 1 Samuel 30, James 1:13–15, and James 4:1 to understand a profound truth: often the problem doesn't begin outside of us, but within us. Adversity doesn't create the problem—it reveals the state of our hearts. But the good news of the gospel is that Jesus didn't just come to teach us how to better react to crises. He came to transform our hearts. Through the cross and the work of the Holy Spirit, God gives us a new heart and a new life (Ezekiel 36:26). When Christ transforms the inner being, even in the most difficult moments, what came out of Paul and Silas in prison can flow from within us: prayer, faith, and praise to God. If this message speaks to your heart, share it with someone who also needs to hear this truth.
