Castillo Beach Bungalows in Fuerteventura are often ranked as one of the worst places to stay on the island, with countless reviews mentioning cockroaches, crime, and run-down apartments. But is their terrible reputation truly deserved? In December 2023, we stayed in the Lake area of Castillo Beach. While our apartment was undeniably rough around the edges, we still managed to enjoy our cheap winter break in the sun. At the time, Mrs Out and About vowed never to return… But fast forward to this trip, and the allure of a cheap week away was too tempting to resist.
