Doune hill climb Sept 2025 Hillman Imp 1040cc - first time under 60 secs, whooop!

We had a fantastic weekend at Doune racing in Interclub class D1 - Classic and Thoroughbred Road Cars. The field was mixed including another Imp (930cc), Ford Falcon, MG Midget, TR7 and GT6. We had 4 practice runs on Saturday, and 1 practice + 2 timed runs on Sunday. The weather stayed dry but cool, perfect for the car and the track conditions. With the Shrigley - ‪@thehillmanator‬rebuilt engine by Andy Jones the Imp flew up the King of the Hills and we both knocked 3 seconds off our previous personal bests! At the end of this run you can see Jen was pretty pleased that it had a 5 in front of it, our first time under 60 seconds! Wait until the end to see a great example of hill climb camaraderie in action :) Will post our fastest runs too, but this one was a nice smooth run so we wanted to share it; though of course watching it back there are lots of places to improve - too-early change downs that could be later, potential for using 4th gear? etc. Some notes to make before we are back there in April...
