By 1988, the Loop section of the L was one of the great urban experiences in America — a rectangle of elevated track above the streets of downtown Chicago, the trains thundering through the canyons of skyscrapers in all weather. It still runs today, largely unchanged in its essential drama. 🏛️ The Chicago Theatre (175 N.
