Passover and the Last Supper, an extraordinary connection.

In this episode of Jewish Jewels, Neil and Jamie discuss the celebration of Passover with an actual Passover seder in their home. Passover is a 3500-year-old tradition that commemorates the liberation of the Jewish people from slavery in Egypt. It is marked by removing leaven from homes, as a symbol of leaving Egypt without leavened bread. The first Passover is described in the book of Exodus, where the Lord instructed Moses to have the Israelites take a lamb without blemish, sacrifice it, and place its blood on the lintel and doorposts of their homes so that the angel of death would pass over them. For Messianic Jews, the Passover has additional significance as it commemorates the fact that the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua, fulfilled this feast. He was the Lamb of God without blemish who shed His blood on the tree of sacrifice as the atonement for our sins. When we accept Yeshua by faith, we symbolically place His blood on the door of our hearts and the angel of death passes over us so we can have eternal life.
