Whatever Happened to Simple??? I had the opportunity to write a song with an old friend of mine this weekend who asked to remain anonymous. His exact words were: "I've had my time in the sun. These days, I'd rather sit in the shade and listen to the birds." So I'll honour that. What I can tell you is that it was recorded the old-fashioned way—two guys, one worn-out guitar, and a lifetime of stories behind his weathered voice. It's not about wishing for the past to return, nor pretending that yesterday was perfect. It's simply a quiet reflection on a question many of us have asked at one time or another: Whatever happened to simple?
