Students Protest at Assam Don Bosco University Over Harassment Allegations Against HoD Guwahati:Students of Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU) staged a peaceful protest on the university campus alleging harassment of female students by Dr. Saurabh Chandra, Head of the Department of Public Administration. The movement received support from the Guwahati-Arunachal Student Union (GASU) following discussions with the All Arunachal Assam Don Bosco University Students’ Union (AAADBUSU) and the All Aka Sajolang Students’ Union Guwahati (AASSUG). According to GASU, two FIRs were lodged in connection with the matter, and the union claimed that 17 cases were pending against Dr. Chandra. During the protest, students also alleged that certain faculty members were not permitted to leave the campus. Following the demonstrations and subsequent developments, Assam Don Bosco University terminated Dr. Saurabh Chandra from his position. He is no longer employed by the university. The protest concluded peacefully without any reported incidents, with students expressing hope for a safe and respectful academic environment for all.
