National Day Parade 2026 to feature first standalone disability contingent

For the first time, the National Day Parade will feature a standalone contingent of persons with disabilities, with 17 members from the Singapore Disability Sports Council set to march into the National Stadium on Aug 9. Organisers have introduced accessibility measures including wheelchair ramps, guide dogs and quiet rooms as part of efforts to make this year's celebrations more inclusive. More than 1,200 civilians will take part in the parade, the highest number in over a decade. Noah Kong reports.
