Fort I Salis-Soglio - Twierdza Przemyśl

During the Austrian Partition (1888-1914), Przemyśl, a thousand-year-old city, was transformed into a first-class ring fortress, the third largest in Europe. Around the city, on a 45-kilometer perimeter, 44 main and auxiliary forts were built on hills. In June 1915, the Przemyśl Fortress ended its military career forever. Currently, the forts are in ruins, but we saw them anyway. We visited the Salis-Soglio artillery fort and were surprised by its size, might, and power.
