He was already a record breaker in the UK being the first Australian to simultaneously hold the No.1 spot in both the albums & singles charts and the youngest artist ever to go straight to No.1. By the time of the concert he'd had 8 Top 10 singles in the UK (incl 3 No.1s & 2 No.2s) and in Ireland he had just had an unprecedented sequence of 5 consecutive No.1 singles, part of a sequence of 13 Top 10 singles in three years -- another record. This live performance from Oz (that's how we refer to our country), is simply amazing. He married an Australian girl & for 30 years he regularly visited & was an honorary Aussie really. When you watch this, and realize this is live, his voice is almost hard too to believe. Add to that he plays the guitar, come on! Just as a side note, one time he was in Australia in the 1980's he heard that a group of special children, those with mental or physical difficulties were having a visit to Parramatta Park in Sydney, so without publicity or the cameras, he was there when the kids got off the bus and gave them an impromptu performance. No one knew he would do this; he didn't announce it; he just thought it would be a nice thing to do & he did it. That's the kind of man he was. enjoy!
