Barrio la Francia (Manizales) recorrido 4k

On the western edge of Manizales lies one of the quietest neighborhoods in the capital of Caldas. Its origins were not very pretentious. There was just one farm with a vast expanse of land, very valuable due to its proximity to Manizales, and owners eager to subdivide every piece. La Francia was the name of the farm owned by brothers Genaro and Hernán Mejía Arango, a property that, according to some residents, was so large it could have stretched from Olaya Park to the Pan-American Highway. It was land for subsistence crops, according to Manizales writer Carlos Eduardo Marín Ocampo, referring to the plantain and potato plants they grew in La Francia.
