DOS ALERTAS IGNORADAS: la Municipalidad ratificó a Barrelier pese a las advertencias internas

Claudio Barrelier, arrested and the main suspect in the femicide of Agostina Vega, began working as an intern at the Municipality of Córdoba in 2021. Despite being absent for more than 20 days in 2025 while detained in Bouwer prison on charges of unlawful deprivation of liberty, he continued to perform his duties at the Traffic and Road Safety Education School in the Empalme neighborhood Community Participation Center (CPC). Journalist Roberto Battaglino reported on the program "Arriba Córdoba" that Barrelier's supervisor warned him of his imprisonment in May, but his superior, the Director General of Traffic and Road Safety Education, Iván Contreras, maintained that there was no reason to dismiss him. The second warning ignored by City Hall (Palacio 6 de Julio) came in December 2025 when Mayor Daniel Passerini demanded a reduction in personnel across all municipal departments. Barrelier was on the list to be dismissed, but a directive stipulated that he remain in his position.
