Additional information: The plane was probably full that day, and there was more than one child in the Quiet Zone. Even if we had spoken to the flight attendants, we probably wouldn't have been able to get them all to leave. The point is that in a quiet area where children shouldn't be running around and making noise, the presence of toddlers (I didn't get a picture of the crying incident, but one toddler bumped their head while running and started crying loudly, making the whole cabin tremble) is very unfair to other passengers who paid extra for the Quiet Zone. 💙 Summary of advantages: AirAsia flight attendants were as warm and friendly as ever, and the meals were as delicious as ever! The Thai basil chicken rice this time was super delicious, even though it didn't look very appealing XD! The hot matcha latte slightly soothed my wounded heart. AirAsia's fares are still affordable and easy to book – everyone can fly! However, this time, the flaws don't outweigh the merits. Please refer to the summary of shortcomings below. 💔Summary of shortcomings: Perhaps due to the recent reopening after the pandemic, Kuala Lumpur Airport's service was chaotic. Counter displays were incorrect, causing passengers to wait indefinitely. Also, because the QUIET ZONE was likely full, the passenger next to me was a child of about three years old (quiet zones are not allowed for children under ten; the video includes a link to the website for details). All my favorite desserts on the menu were gone! I hope they'll give me my cheesecake back once borders reopen and things stabilize 😭😭😭 (thankfully, the drinks were still there). AirAsia's desserts are truly among the best of budget airlines. Conclusion: Economy class's quiet zone has finally been invaded by children! This isn't something that can be solved by switching to business class; I've encountered even noisier swaddled babies in business class! (Background: I'm not a fan of children, especially on public transport. I believe other passengers should be treated with respect. Even though I was polite to the child and the parent, it doesn't mean I wasn't bothered. I appreciate that the mother stopped her child from disturbing the passenger next to her, myself. However, when the mother was asleep or not paying attention, I was still kicked by the child (later, because the child was sleeping sideways, their feet were on my side) 🥹 and the whole row of seats was shaking because of the child jumping around...). I hope the AirAsia crew can be more mindful of the situation when moving economy class passengers to the quiet zone on a full plane. Some passengers choose the quiet zone perhaps to avoid children. Even when the plane is full, please try to avoid disregarding the right of passengers who choose the quiet zone. ) People who generally like children probably wouldn't react this strongly, but because I personally don't like children, and I genuinely felt constantly bothered, this trip was somewhat frustrating. (My dislike for children is roughly equivalent to how I worry about them wanting to chat with me during a flight XD.
