victoryknives.co.nz; Argus.co.nz Not Sponsored. I purchased what I believe to be New Zealand’s best value hunting knife from Victory Knives. Made in New Zealand. This is the ‘Lightweight Hunter’. Knife and sheath normally retails at $60 NZD. You can buy direct from the Victory website. I got mine at a slight discount for $55 on special from Argus (lol probably because it had a pink handle…). Knife weighs 70 grams and a 50 gram sheath. So very light. Plastic handle (not just in pink…) and German Stainless Steel drop point blade of around 4 inches. Hunting knives do not require to be overly sophisticated or strong. While there are advantages of more expensive knives a cheap one like this will work just fine if all you are using it for is processing game animals. Victory Knives are New Zealand’s biggest knife manufacturer and have been in business since 1927 primarily making butchers and hunting knives. There are other economical New Zealand hunting knives around but IMO this one appears to be the standout best value one.
