The lake and the old Geezer

A Candle's Glow Inspired by Chapter 3 of my original fantasy novel. After recounting the battle that claimed his friends, Bow leaves the capital in search of solitude. Haunted by loss and questioning whether their sacrifices truly mattered, he finds peace beside an ancient lake where he meets a quiet old elf unlike any he has ever known. The old warrior doesn't offer easy answers or promise that grief will fade. Instead, he shares the wisdom earned through a lifetime of loss, reminding Bow that every sacrifice protects lives that may never know the price paid for their tomorrow. As the sun sets and the stars emerge, the mysterious elf asks a single question that quietly foreshadows the future of the entire series: "What if one day the elves need humans?" This song explores grief, resilience, sacrifice, and the hope that even the smallest light can change the course of history. "Even in the darkest night, a candle's glow is still true... even if the sun exists somewhere beyond the horizon."
