Sweet Heaven Kings: The Sounds of Sunday Morning
The Sweet Heaven Kings, an exhilarating brass ensemble, is made up of members of the United House of Prayer for All People in the Anacostia community of Washington, D.C. The group delivered this unforgettable performance at the 2012 Smithsonian Folklife Festival, building from solo trombone to a tumult of brass. This presentation was part of the Rinzler Memorial Concert, which honored the work of folklorist, cultural worker, and activist Worth Long. Videography by Kelsey Michael, Marinna Guzy, Michael Headley, and David Barnes. Edited by Marinna Guzy. [Catalog No. - CFV10421; Copyright - 2012 Smithsonian Institution]
